Merit Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students: The University of Vermont has established these scholarships in which the (international undergraduate) applicant is automatically considered once an application for admission into the university is submitted. The grant is given on the basis of academics and is awarded for four years. Scholarships are granted to in-state as well as out-of-state applicants; however the eligibility and grant amounts differ.
Scholarships for Out-of-State International Students includes; the International Distinction, International Excellence and International Merit scholarships with annual amounts of $8,000, $5,000 and $2,000 respectively. Grant is renewable if the student maintains 2.5 GPA and 12 hour credits per semester.
Scholarships for In-State International Students offer the Vermont Scholarship with a grant of $4,000 per year and Patrick Family Scholarship for $2,000. 3.0 GPA with 12 hour credits per semester is required for continued support.
Vermont Society of Engineers Scholarship: Any student interested in engineering can apply for this scholarship. To qualify the applicant is required to have Vermont high school graduation and be already enrolled for an engineering program at University of Vermont, Norwich University or Vermont Technical College. Such students will receive $2,000 per year.

- Vermont Teacher Diversity Scholarship: The scholarship is meant for students from different racial and ethnic backgrounds who want to take up teaching as a profession. High school seniors or college students can apply for this program. The student has to attend one of the partner institutes. The student must teach for one year, longer duration of teaching leads to a larger loan amount being forgiveness.

The applicant must be aged between 25-50 years with a cumulative education gap of five years. - Vermont State Grange Scholarships: Vermont State Grange Educational Aid Fund Scholarship encourages education in rural areas and grants aid to applicants from Vermont subordinate Grange who wishes to get an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. The Student must be attending an accredited post secondary school and have a stable academic achievement as well as financial need.
