The Utah State Board of Regents is the governing body for Utah System of Higher Education, which is made up of a number of institutions including Utah College of Applied Technology which is a combination of eight regional technical colleges in the state.

New Century Scholarship: It is one of the two scholarships administered by Utah State Board of Regents. Students can accelerate their education by securing an Associate’s degree in high school. Scholarship amount will be a maximum of $1,250 and can be used at a four-year public college or university under Utah System of Higher Education and also at Brigham Young University and Westminster College. The applicant must graduate from a Utah High School with 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the Associate degree. Deadlines for the scholarship application are February 1, and September 1 for submitting verification documents. Student receiving this scholarship cannot receive the Regents’ Scholarship.
Regent’s Scholarship: This is the second scholarship by Utah State Board of Regents. Available to Utah High School graduates who enroll full-time to a college or university in Utah System of Higher Education or at Brigham Young University, LDS Business College and Westminster College. The Regents’ Scholarship is a tiered system with three awards. The Base award is a one-time payment of $1,000 for students completing the Utah Scholars Core Course with 3.0 cumulative GPA and no grades lower than C with minimum one ACT test score. The Exemplary Academic Achievement Award with maximum of $1,250 per semester requires the student to meet the Base award requirements plus have 3.5 cumulative GPA, Act score of 26 and grades not lower than B. Finally the Utah Educational Savings Plan (UESP) Supplemental Award is for a maximum of $400. Students must qualify for the Base award and also make an annual contribution of $100 to the students account for four years prior to turning eighteen.

Utah Centennial Scholarship: Students graduating early from a Utah secondary institution and enrolling within one calendar year at a Post-secondary institution recognized by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges can get $250 for ever quarter finished earlier. The total award earned is directly disbursed to the state college or university the student attends. Graduation from a Utah public high school and a Student Education Occupation Plan on file is a must. School principal should be informed about plans of early graduation.
Terrel Howard Bell Teaching Incentive Loan Program: Students enrolling into Utah’s teacher preparation program can receive full fees and the tuition for completing their degree. After graduation the amount treated as loan can be repaid by teaching for a period equal to the loan.
Utah Grants for Colleges & University
Utah Centennial Opportunity Program for Education Grant (UCOPE): The grant is for students who are residents of Utah and attending college in the state. To be eligible the student must have a four-year full-time enrollment at a Utah institution and accept work-study, student-assistant or a community-related job. All applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
