Scholarships in Nebraska
Regents Scholarship: Students graduating from a Nebraska High school can avail of this scholarship. Eligible student must be a Nebraska resident having ACT composite of 30. You must also rank in the top 25% of your graduating class or have a 3.5 cumulative GPA. The award for tuition is renewable up to 135 credit hours, or till securing a bachelor’s degree or a maximum of five years. A cumulative GPA of 3.25 is to be maintained to remain eligible for renewals.
Nebraska Legacy Scholarship: Freshmen who are children of University of Nebraska graduates can avail of this scholarship that awards the differential between in-state and out-of-state tuition, Interested students must rank in the top one-third in their graduating class, or have Act composite of 25 or a SAT equivalent. The scholarship is awarded yearly and renewable up to four years.
Urban League of Nebraska Scholarship: The Urban League of Nebraska awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education. The student has to be a resident of Nebraska and fulfill a number of eligibility criteria; a 2.5 cumulative GPA in high school, essay stating ambitions and ‘why the scholarship should be given to you’, ten hours of documented community service. The student must also submit high school transcripts or GED along with two letters of recommendation.

- Nebraska Rural Schools Scholarship: The NRCSA (Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association) provides this scholarship to benefit students of Nebraska’s rural areas comprising of communities not above 10,000. The student must be a graduating senior or former graduate of a rural high school that is a member of NRCSA. Graduating in the top 10% or having a 3.5 GPA at the current college is required. The applicant must be attending a college or university in Nebraska. Preference for this scholarship is given to students majoring in Education or related fields like Media, Counselor, etc.
- Tuition Assistance Program (TAP): The University of Nebraska encourages low-income youth for pursuing higher education by providing for tuitions up to 30 credit hours per year.
