Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship

A very special scholarship, this one is mainly awarded to students who have been stellar performers all their lives. The applicants for this scholarship are not only required to be high-school students, but should also be residents of the Connecticut state. The award amounts up to $1500 and can be renewed in a period of three months. Another pre-requisite for the same is that the students are already required to have qualified for a degree program in that state.

Connecticut Aid for Public College Students

This Scholarship is awarded to the student to bridge the gap between the fee that his parents can pay and the actual fee of the degree that he has chosen to go for. Based on the preference of financial need, the scholarship is overseen by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education. For this scholarship, the student is not liable to repay the fee.

Connecticut Capitol Scholarship Program

The eligibility criterion for this scholarship is students who have scored at least a 1800 in the SAT Exam. Also, the student is required to be in the top 20% of his class and should have a 27 as his ACT score. This scholarship is the one which gives you the ability to apply out of the state to places including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, D.C. High School Students are not applicable for this scholarship.

Applicable for courses in designated private schools for under-graduation degree, the Connecticut Independent College Student Grant is renewable every year. Although it is preferable to be awarded a scholarship or grant since the money you receive does not need to be repaid, student loans are also a viable option.
