Arizona Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Scholarship: Arizona CPA awards eight scholarships of $500 each, to high school graduates. Applicants must be residents of Arizona and take admission at any community college or university within Arizona on a full time basis. Also the student must be pursuing for an accounting major. The award amount is sent directly to the institution the student has enrolled in.

American Society of Travel Agents Professional Development Scholarship: The American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) Arizona Chapter reimburses a maximum amount of $500, to students who complete one of the programs taken from ASTA or The Travel Institute. Even those who attend the ASTA International Destination Expo can get back the registration fee. However the applicants must be US residents having two years experience in the travel field, and either they themselves or their co-workers must be members of the of the ASTA Arizona Chapter

More Arizona Scholarships

  • Arizona Nurses Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship sponsored by The Arizona Nurses Foundation aims to give an impetus to the nursing profession by supporting all nurses in Arizona. The applicant must be already enrolled at a program in nursing, either part or full time. Applicant must have financial and, and naturally the ones committed to taking up nursing in Arizona are given preference. The amount of scholarship varies between $500 and $2,500, depending upon the course taken.
  • Arizona Quarter Horse Foundation (AQHF) Youth Scholarship: AQHF awards up to 25 scholarships of $8,000 each ($2,000 per year for a 4-year course). Applicants must be US citizens and members of the association, with 2.5 GPA. The scholarship is open to full time students for any accredited program. Basis for award include academics, financial need and involvement in the association activities.
  • Melnick Scholars Award: The Morrison Institute for Public Policy conducts a competition for high school senior students. The participating students have to write a 1,200-word essay on topics related to the Arizona public policy issues and challenges, and their solutions. The winners are decided by judges based only on the essay, academics or need are not taken into consideration. Two winners are chosen where $1,500 and $1,000 is awarded to first and second places respectively. However the winners must take up a program at the Arizona State University only, to receive the award.

Arizona Grants for College

Postsecondary Education Grant Program (PEG): The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education awards PEG with the sole intention of encouraging students in Arizona to complete their baccalaureate degrees in the state. This is not a need-based grant, and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. An amount of up to $2,000 is awarded each year for four years. But a student is required to complete the degree within five years or else the grant amount has to be repaid.

More Financial Aid For College In Arizona

Since not everyone can be granted a scholarship or grant, many students have to take out other forms of financial aid for college. One of the most common forms is a student loan. Student loans have very low interest rates making them affordable to students. It is of course, not as attractive as a scholarship or grant since you have to repay the money, but is another option to enable you to go to college.

I am looking for scholarships for single mother’s for tuition expenses for Arizona University level classes. I will be obataining my Associate’s degree this December. I do not qualify for loans and grants that cover my continued education beyond this semester.
