2 Year College Awards: Alabama Two-year College Academic Scholarships are awarded to students taking admission in a two-year program at a public college in Alabama. These awards are based purely on merit; the financial requirement is not taken under consideration.

Blount Presidential Scholarship: If you are a resident of Alabama, and want to enroll at the Auburn University, then you can apply for this scholarship. The student should however take up the building science, or the civil or mechanical engineering programs at this university. Additionally, applicant must have 3.5 GPA in high school alongwith 31 on ACT. The award amount is $5,000 per year, for a total of four years.

Alabama State Nursing Scholarship: This one-time scholarship of $600 is awarded to students taking a clinical nursing program at an accredited institute. The applicant must be an Alabama resident, and must currently have 2.5 GPA in their nursing undergraduate course. The scholarship comes with an obligation of serving for a year within Alabama, failing which the scholarship is treated as a loan, and has to be accordingly repaid.

  • Alabama National Guard Educational Assistance Program: A maximum award of $1,000 per year is provided to the applicant who is an Alabama resident, and a member of the Alabama National Guard. Student can avail of this award for a program at a recognized post secondary institute within the state.
  • Senior Adult Scholarship Program: Any senior citizen aged 60 and above, can avail of this scholarship. It provide for the full tuition at any public post secondary institution in Alabama for a two years program. For more details the applicant must approach the financial aid office at the institute they wish to apply.
  • Alabama GI Dependents Education Benefit Program: Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs offers full scholarship to children and spouses of Alabama veterans. The veteran must be an Alabama resident having actively served a minimum of 90 days in the federal army during wartime, or discharged earlier with partial disability. The applicant must attend a public post secondary institute in the state, in an undergraduate program.

Alabama Grants for College

Alabama Student Assistance Program: This need-based grant, awards up to $2,500 per year to students taking an undergraduate program at one of the recognized Alabama institutions. To apply for this award, applicants have to submit the Free Application for Federal Student aid (FAFSA).

Alabama Student Grant: This grant is open to only those undergraduate students who are residents of Alabama, and attend colleges from a prescribed list. Maximum award amount is $1,200 per year, and can be used at a recognized independent institution in Alabama.
